Linnegatan

Linnegatan, named after Swedish botanist Linne, is a haven for people wanting a place to eat and have a few beers. Prices are lower than on Avenyn, but places also close a couple of hours earlier here. Enjoy all afternoon and to around eleven pm.

Trams are a common sight in Gothenburg. It is advisable to buy a magnetic card good for six travels. Remember that you need to punch the button for two tickets as an adult. Changing from one tram to another, or to and from buses, doesn't cost extra. The tickets are valid for the ferries as well.

Gothenburg is a green city, and is still so in August. The dry, yellow colour normally associated with that month is mostly absent in Sweden.

Slottsskogen

There's more to a good EC than just playing those cards. The tournaments I recall best are those when I had the time to explore the city hosting the championship.
For that reason I'll add some shameless ads for Gothenburg in summer.
In a sense it is truly a green city, so what better start than photos from Slottskogen, the largest park in Gothenburg.

Should you arrive with small children then Plikta, the main playground in Slottsskogen, offers activity for the juniors.

The main restaurant in Slottsskogen. If you've spent a few hours here it's a decent place to rest your legs. A bit pricey though.

Playing with water, city style.

The lawn is used frequently by youths carrying grills and beverages.

Shot over the large lawn below the central cafeteria.

Exiting Slottskogen at the main entrance. Linnegatan with its buildings can be seen in the background.

Main website

Even though there's still missing information I guess knowing the address could turn out useful.

Let's run them hotels again

We have Expedia, booking.com and otel.com for those of you who prefer your information in English.

In general it's not too easy to cram in more than two persons in a room, even though there are exceptions.

Gothenburg may have a ridiculous amount of hotels, but hostels are available as well. Information for youth hostels tend to vary, so google on hostels and Gothenburg and you should get a few helpful links.
